Kenya only beat Cameroon at the championship but fell to the Netherlands, Belgium, and Puerto Rico.

Malkia strikers coach Paul Bitok has opted to look at the glass as half full and not the other way round despite crushing out of the contention for the ongoing FIVB Women’s World Championships.

The national women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to a hard-fighting Puerto Rico in their last group match on Saturday night, a match in which they needed maximum points to progress to the second round.

Despite the exits, Bitok opines that they have learnt a lot across the board from their time in Brazil, then in Serbia, and later in the Netherlands and they shall be sharing the knowledge to improve the team.

"Malkia Strikers have sacrificed a lot. We have been away from our families for months, working so hard to achieve better results for our beloved country. We may not have met our target as aspired but we learned a lot during this process and we hope to continue until we achieve our goals. We have young and senior team with great future.

We shall be sharing the experience we have gained both at the management, coaches, players and young generation levels. We would like to inspire others from what we experienced during our journey in this competition," Bitok wrote.

Further, Bitok is optimistic that some of the players in the team will be offered professional contracts by different professional clubs in the near future owing to their display in that period.

The tactician remains thankful to Mozzart Bet among other partners who were involved in facilitating the team's stay in Brazil, Serbia and in the Netherlands.

"Apart from competition and training sessions in Brazil, we visited many sports academies, sporting club complexes and a few Clubs in Serbia where we met sports legends and current stars. I'm sure a few of our players will get called to be professional players in the near future and one day you will lift the Kenya team to another level.

I do believe we have been inspired from this experience. We thank all our sponsors ( mozzart, Nock, Mizuno, FIVB, KVF, Osasco and ministry of sports) . Also I thank players and the technical team led by Coach Louizomar," he added.
